While the Middle East continues to be dominated by free TV, there has been significant movement on the subscription side, both in traditional pay TV and new digital platforms. In Africa, meanwhile, pay TV groups continue to expand from a modest base, while new digital offerings have also appeared to make the most of the opportunities in a fast-growing market.
Digital TV Europe’s Middle East & Africa 2016 looks at all these developments in detail. We assess the battle for subscribers between pay operators in the Middle East and look into the prospects for new SVOD players and others in Africa."
