Extrait de l'introduction, par Myria Georgiou et Eugenia Siapera:
"What conclusion might we draw on the basis of these discussions?
Perhaps the most important contribution that this special issue would like to make is to insist on an enduring concern with the "ordinary" elements of living with difference, in both its mediated and non-mediated dimensions. It is from this side that a revised multiculturalism can and should emerge. From this perspective, the failures of policy are not necessarily reflected in the domain of the every day, notwithstanding times of crisis. But studying everydaylife, looking at the multiple encounters between people and the media, and the seamless ways in which multiple and even apparently contradictory identities are linked, may provide new and more fruitful ways of thinking about living with difference.
This special issue is dedicated to the memory of Roger Silverone."
