If there were a “European standard for community media”, some forms of community media could be denied recognition, or assistance, because they do not fit that “standard”. One of the strengths of the community media movement is its diversity. The Chinese have put it well, when they said “Let a hundred flowers bloom”, or “It doesn’t matter if a cat is black or white, so long as it catches mice".
